Last weekend was amazing; we were booked for a wedding reception in Santa Ana at Waverly Chapel. The groom is a musician, so I am always honored to be selected as the DJ for someone in the industry. U2 is the groom’s favorite band so I edited a custom mix for their grand entrance to, “It’s a beautiful Day”. In addition to the custom mix, we also added lasers for the grand entrance which is a bit unusual; possibly that is exactly why their entrance had such a big impact on their guests. I had the mix timed so that and the end of announcing the Bride and Groom, the song when immediately into the chorus. All of their friends and family went crazy. I mean really crazy.

The expectations of the Bride and Groom were for fun, upbeat music for listening but they really didn’t expect the guests to dance much. They just didn’t feel the guests that they had invited were much of a dancing crowd, so they didn’t want me to take it personal. I really appreciated their thoughtfulness and let them know that I would play fun background music and just allow the guests to mingle. Well, our expectations couldn’t have been further from the truth. The first crowd to attack the dance floor were the disco and 80’s crowd, after that we went into a bunch of old school funk and then for the last hour it was all about top 40 R&B. The dance floor and carpet surrounding it were packed all night long. Throughout the evening the Bride and Groom and I just looked at each other and said, go figure. I’ll never know if it was the great music and lighting or the open bar, my guess is it was a combination of all three. Anyway, the Bride and Groom had a reception that turned into a crazy party which was pleasantly, unexpected.

Dear Art and Isabel,
I can't tell you how many people came up to us at the wedding; even after, and telling us how "AWESOME" our wedding was. A few special things were the lighting you did at the park – we were blown away. It set the mood for the whole wedding. The laser lights in the trees were a super nice touch. One of my best friends said "the DJ is so cool and professional”. You know how we just ran out of time to make a larger music selection ourselves, Melinda and I were very pleased with your selections for us. Lastly, Isabel was a HUGE in making my big surprise for my bride come off seamlessly. We almost had a case were the surprise was going to be spoiled because my bride wanted to go into the club house for a second where the surprise band was hiding out. Isabel sprinted into action to not let the surprise get spoiled, thanks Isabel!

You will have confidence in the songs we play because you selected the songs from our website music library ahead of time. Our job is then to "read" the dance floor along with your guests who are sitting at their tables to know when to subtly move the music into areas that night get those wedding guests on the dance floor. Wedding reception music is about us playing your favorite songs in a way that keeps your wedding guests dancing. While at the same time knowing how to rotate the genre's of songs being played so your songs feel fresh. However, all the songs we play will be inline with what your favorites are.

The moment your guests enter the room, they will notice how we have transformed your room with our lighting expertise. Your guests will know your reception will be fun, classy, and elegant from the start. A dance floor without lighting is like a table without a centerpiece - it needs a accent focal point to draw it out.
