Orange County DJ Entertainment for Anniversaries
What a great time of celebrating 10, 25 or 50 years of marriage! It’s very important with 50th anniversaries that we keep the music volume down a little bit, sometimes this can be done with speaker placement depending on the room, to not hinder table side talking. I have found over the years that at times, the music is more about me playing old favorites where some guests want to dance, but others might just want to tap their toes as they listen from their tables and reminisce with friends.

I play all the songs that were popular when the couple was in high school & college usually. I also, when talking ahead of time to the couple, ask them to visit my song list pages to let me know their favorites.
Depending on the couple I have re-enacted their “Grand Entrance” of 50 years ago along with members of their original wedding party. We can even do a married couples version of the bouquet and garter toss is desired.
If this is a 10 year anniversary, and guests are in their 40’s, I would play a range of disco, funk and 80’s Rock, Pop and New Wave. We could also play some older swing and lounge music from such great artists as Glenn Miller and Frank Sinatra if desired. Possibly we could even play some hip-hop. Again, because I work off of a laptop it is also very easy for me to play requests on the spot. We could even have a list of songs that are not to be played.
If this is a 25 year anniversary and guests are in their 50’s, I would not typically play hip-hop but add in some R&B and soul in it’s place. Popular artists like, Aretha Franklin, The Commodores, Wilson Pickett, Isley Brothers, and James Brown are typical crowd pleasers. However, it all depends on what has been arranged ahead of time with the party hosts. Along with favorites from artists like Frank Sinatra, Nate King Cole, and Louis Armstrong, we could add newer renditions of the classic’s by such artists as, Michael Bublé, Harry Connick Jr., Brian Setzer, and Bette Midler. All of this can be discussed ahead of time as we work together to plan the event.
Anniversaries are wonderful get together’s, great times of reminiscing, and perfect opportunities to take it to the dance floor. I am always more than happy to play any requests that you or your guests might have.

Art, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! You were the icing on the cake at my parents, Gary & Cathy Olney, 50th Wedding Anniversary. Never having put on a 50th Anniversary Party, I was so happy to have you at the celebration as an expert among the amateurs (that would be us!). Not only did you play the most perfect and appropriate music, but you held us by the hand and orchestrated us into the most wonderful celebrations.
I recommend you to anyone and everyone who is looking for a DJ….and I think all of our family and guests would do the same.

this is a 50 year anniversary and guests are in their 60-70’s,
I talk at length with the couple about music to make sure that I play
their favorites for listening pleasure and not focus quite so much on
keeping everyone dancing. Although, when I bring out the tangos, mambos,
sambas and cha-cha’s the dance floor just takes care of it’s
self. Along with favorites from artists like Frank Sinatra, Nate King
Cole, Bing Crosby, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw and Louis
Armstrong, we could add newer renditions of the classic’s by such
artists as, Michael Bublé, Harry Connick Jr., Brian Setzer, and
Bette Midler. All of this can be discussed ahead of time as we work
together to plan the event.
